Downtown Albuquerque—Close to the Old Town and the City Center

Downtown Albuquerque is a neighborhood in Southwest Albuquerque, and it could probably go without saying that it is in the heart of the city center. The Old Town Plaza is right across the street, and the skyline is filled with brightly colored condos and high rises. There are many things to see and do in Downtown Albuquerque, and it’s a beloved part of the city.

Best Parks in Downtown Albuquerque

In the Downtown neighborhood, kids can blow off some steam at Mary Fox Park. The park is not a city-funded park—rather, the neighborhood constructed it. It has a play structure, and several pergolas create a great shaded area for a picnic. Several reviewers on Google commented on how Mary Fox Park is a great place to have a birthday party. They also noted that the neighbors care about keeping it clean and in good shape.

Amenities in Downtown Albuquerque

The Downtown BBVA branch is in the Compass Building—a high-rise building and one of the tallest in Albuquerque. In fact, it was the tallest building in New Mexico until the Albuquerque Plaza towers went up in 1990. The customer-facing part of this bank branch does not have a drive-up teller, but there is a 24-hour ATM.

Another useful amenity in Downtown Albuquerque is Lowe’s Corner Market. This Texas-based grocery store serves neighborhoods throughout the Southwest U.S. and is the go-to grocer in this area of ABQ.

And there’s also an ALON gas station in Downtown Albuquerque off Lomas Blvd. It’s a convenient place in the neighborhood to grab snacks and fill up on the way to work.

Do I really need to have my air conditioning unit routinely maintained?

We absolutely believe air conditioning maintenance in Albuquerque is a priority. 80-90% of the repair calls we get could have been prevented by regular maintenance. Taking care of your AC unit saves money in the long run and prevents sudden lapses in cooling.

When do I need an AC repair versus a new AC installation?

AC repair versus installation is case by case. Every situation in every home and business is different. The best thing you can do if you have a question about your cooling system is to let one of our technicians from Bosque come out, survey your current system and the issues it’s having, and give you various potential solutions.
