The neighborhood of Martineztown is named for one of the area’s first families, the Martins. It was established in 1694, during New Mexico’s Spanish period. But, this neighborhood is also called Santa Barbara. Here are some of the highlights.
Santa Barbara-Martineztown Historic Places
The charming, old San Ignacio Catholic Church is located in Martineztown. It has been there for over a century. After noticing that many people in the region were traveling considerable distances to attend mass at San Felipe de Neri, Friar Joseph Arthius assisted in organizing the resources and labor to establish a parish in the neighborhood. They are still doing a Latin mass, which sets them apart from their Catholic churches in the region.
Sunset Memorial Park is also located in Martineztown. Since 1929, this cemetery has served the families of Albuquerque. It’s a tranquil spot to visit departed loved ones, with mature trees, well-kept grounds, and sculptures.

Air Purifiers and Ozonators for Albuquerque Homes and Businesses
For those concerned with the indoor air quality of their home or workplaces, there are other solutions as well. Ask the team at Bosque about UV lights that improve the air quality of a space, and also the option to install an Ozonator. These machines put a safe percentage of ozone into the air in your home or business to help purify the air.
I live in a new home in Stinson Tower. Why would I need to worry about the indoor air quality?
It is counterintuitive, but actually new homes are full of potential toxins that seep out of building materials like flooring and paint. In fact, your indoor air quality isn’t “pure” unless you take actions to make it so. Without any air purification steps, the air outside is much cleaner than the air in your home.
