We love this Albuquerque suburb for its proximity to the national forest and wonderful shows and festivals.
Many people know Rio Rancho as a commuter town. And while that is true, Rio Rancho has a lot to offer as well. For starters, we love that Rio Rancho is so close to Cibola National Forest. No matter what you like to do in the outdoors, there is probably a way for you to do it in this national forest—camping, biking, hiking, fishing, boating, and more. This incredible preserve covers 1.6 million acres of land. We always love attending concerts and other fun events at the Santa Ana Star Center. One of our favorites is the Rio Rancho Pork and Brew, a giant BBQ festival where we can sample barbeque from tons of vendors, drinks amazing microbrews, and hear live music.
